Lake Manyara National Park Day Excursion takes you to Lake Manyara National Park which approximately 1.5 hours drive from Arusha. The size of the park is 330 sq km. Itinerary Details





The driver or tour guide will pick you at 0800 hrs from your place of residence in Arusha or hotel ready for a day excursion to Lake Manyara National Park. You will have a short briefing before the departure.

On arrival at entrance and after being cleared at the parks gate your days adventure will begin. Lake Manyara National Park is a charming gem, which will make your excursion memorable.

From the entrance gate, the road will lead you straight to the a vastness of flourishing jungle like groundwater forest where you will spot hundred of baboons, monkeys as well as other wild animals. Nature enthusiasts will fall in love with the destination.

The vegetation of the park comprises of grassland plains, mixed with patches of the evergreen forests and acacia woodlands that make the escarpment more beautiful.

On the grasslands and other areas of the park you will spot the wildebeest, Leopards, buffalo, lions, elephants, gazelle, blue monkeys, dik-dik, impalas, waterbucks, giraffe, warthogs, and herds of zebra as well as other wild animals that inhabit the park.   

The park is an introduction to Tanzanias birdlife, perfect destination to visit, if you would like to view many bird species in a short period. More than 400 species of birds have been recorded. You are likely to see thousands of pink flamingos on the lake as well as other water birds such as cormorants, storks as well as pelicans.

Once inside the park there are many activities that can be done, these includes; canoeing, night game drives, Game drives, picnicking, cultural tours, bush lunch and bush dinners, mountain bike tours and forest walks.

The park is visited all year round depending on ones interest, the dry season is hest for watching the large mammals (July-October)  while the wet season is good for bird watching, canoeing and seeing the waterfalls (November-June).

Lunch will be served at one of the lodges. After an afternoon game excursion in the park return to the city to arrive in Arusha at around 1700hrs
